I have submitted my application for a Canadian visit visa on july 24th and still have not got a response from the embassy / every time I check online it says "UNDER CONSIDERATION" and " received application". I need to go for my brothers wedding which is on the 30 August, 7 days from now. I need to fly to Canada and I am really tensed. I have a students visa and applied from New Hampshire, US.
I was thinking of going to the Embassy in New York and check for any answers. I have complete papers with every bit of information that was required, submitted. I REALLY HAVE TO MAKE IT TO MY BROTHERS WEDDING, WHAT SHOULD I DO? CAN I just GO TO THE EMBASSY IN New York and talk to someone or get an answer because I have no other option it has been a month since I have applied.
PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPP!!!!
THANKS.

I didn't know it could take this long for a visiting visa... I'm wondering if there is any accelerated processing option.

Just one question, will they tell you the result before they ask you to mail the passport?

I wish they would, so that I could buy my ticket at least. I have given the invitation card from my brothers side which states the date. now it would be really awful if I got the visa after the wedding date. I don't know what I should do, its been more than a month.

hi anthony

we applied to canada visa on july 4th and we recieved our visa stamped passports on aug 21.

actually visa people are doing strike.so delay

for u it will take another 2 weeks i guess.sorry

Hey thanks for r response buddy...did u apply through VAC (visa application centre) or online or walk in??
It depends on that too... I applied through VAC!
This sucks because in the info i have submitted clearly states the purpose of this trip , being my brothers wedding ,that i want to be there and if i get the visa after that its pointless. THIS IS SO INSANEEEE!!!!
Im gettin agrivated because they said it would not take more than 30 days!

Anthony2013, Call the CIC call center 1-888-242-2100. Tell them how long you have been waiting and the reason this is urgent. Although the call center may not know what is happening with your application, they can tell you what you should do.

Thank you all for your help but i have called them twice and they havnt responded on what i should do. I cant imagine the wedding being in 6 days and i cant make it. Specially when its not my fault ...how earlier could i have done this! Anyway..
Thanks

I am in the same boat. Applied online on 7/22 and have not receive passport request. I have given up, canceling my trip on 8/31, which totally sucks.

My mother applied for Super Visa on June 27 and still no reply. I think process is slowere because of strike

Anthony2013, keep in mind that there are employees with different levels of experience at the call center. So, call them every day (even multiple times per day) and eventually you may find someone who knows what you should do.

This number u have given doesnt connect...infact it says its an invalid number. This system is crapppp.. I am so mad at the way this whole thing is taking me ages. I have the wedding in almost 5 days and i dont even have a confirmation for my visa. If i had this atleast i could have gone picked it up myself from the NY canadian embassy. >:(

Anthony2013, this number can only be accessed by someone who lives inside Canada. So perhaps you can tell your relative in Canada to call for you.

There is no sense in getting mad. These aren't normal times for CIC due to the strikes.

hi, going to NY CHC, wouldn't work, it might be processing centrally, which is in ottawa. Either u call the 888 242 2100 or wait until next week. I am sure you will get something next week. Good luck.
