Subbmitted online visitor visa application. Passport request received

I had submitted my parents application online. They have received a request for their passport. The letter states that a decision on your application has been made. Please send a valid passport.

Please let me know if this means that the application is approved?

My passport request was sent only one day after the online submission.

Also, although I sincerely hope that it doesn't happen to me, I wonder how they deny a visa via online application? Do they ask for the passport for a deny stamp?

Yes, it means your application has been approved and they need your passport to stamp a visa, obviously

Why else do they need you passport for? I've never heard about a "deny" stamp
