Hello,

I am writing in regards to my friend who wants to extend her study permit. Her study permit is expiring in May 2016 but her study is going to end on Jul 2016. Also she is going to start a new full time study program from Oct 2016 and Sept 2017. I am trying to help her apply for the extension of her study permit but I need your advice here. Since her school is starting in Oct 2016, she does not have funds to show right now that she has x amount of money in her bank account. She also is not working in Canada to proof that she is making an income. Do you think that her application will be accepted if the following proof of financial support is not provided?

- Bank statements for the past four months
- A bank draft in convertible currency
- Proof of assets or business
- Proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
- Proof of a student/education loan from a financial institution
- A letter from the person or institution providing you with the money
- Proof of a Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada

Also, do you advise her to apply for the extension of her study permit until Jul 2016 for now and when she gets the funding for her new program around July she should apply for the extension of her study permit again?

Your professional advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
