I'm a student at Memorial University NL. My visa expires in November and I'm in India right now. Has anyone tried applying for a study visa extension from here and got it approved?

You can’t apply for an extension outside Canada. once You come back to Canada before November the apply for extension.

But I saw an option for a new application for continuing students. Is it risky to apply through that?

What option? An extension is to allow you to continue studies and maintain your status IN Canada . You are no longer in Canada. Why extend if you are not in the country?

I just got study permit extension. I have not received any mail i was just checking gc key account randomly and my status was changed.
