Hello,

If someone has got study permit, and suppose after couple of months, he get an employer to hire him full time, then is it possible to get work permit?

And what are consequences of this process? To get PR?

Hi,

Yes, its possible and for that you need a positive LMO in your favor which is quite difficult especially when preference for job goes to Canadians and landed immigrants.

With work permit in hand, you shall lose your status under study permit.

No employer in the right mind will hire a student for full time job unless its summer/spring term unless you are like someone with a beautiful mind. You will get work permit after completing 6 months of studies and you can work with that for part time during study terms and full time during term breaks.

And if you are thinking of stopping education and get busy earning, then you have to stick to Enfield's post. Just a head's up: recession is coming and don't expect a positive LMO that easily because the economy will have enough hard time providing job to those already working :P

You can still look for jobs and have employers apply for LMO's for you without losing your study permit. If the employer gets the LMO, then you can apply for a work permit so if you can't find a job or can't get an LMO, just continue studying instead.
