hi, I am an international student and just started my class here in BC. Would like to know if I received an LMIA from an employer and is willing to process my work permit, is it alright for me to stop schooling and convert my student visa to working visa? will it not affect my PR application later on? Thank you

You can’t covert. You have a LMIA, and then apply for a closed work permit. It takes months to process and can be refused.

thank you for the enlightenment. So having a LMIA and an employer to process the work permit does not guarantee an approval for work visa, correct?the employer's responsibility is just to provide necessary documents, correct? thank you

Your employer applies for a LMIA after paying $1k and proving that no Canadian or PR could be hired, and then waits for processing and approval. If approved, you apply for the closed work permit. You then wait months for approval or refusal.

thank you. If in case I will pursue the work permit with a LMIA from my employer and the work permit application on the process, am I still allowed to work and study under a student permit or does it disables my study permit while waiting for the result of the work permit application?

You can still study. Provided you are studying full time, you can work up to 20 hours a week while you wait for a decision on the closed work permit.
