Study permit taking too long.. please help

Hello I am international student residing in Dubai.. I plan to attend Concordia University in Montreal. I obtained my approval for the CAQ on July 11 and have submitted my application for the study permit the same day and sent all my required documents. I already booked my flight to Montreal on the 18th and I still have yet to receive my study permit. Is it possible for me to travel to Montreal with my current visit visa that i have (which is valid till the end of November) and then have my passport sent to Dubai when my study permit is done and then back to me in Montreal. I know that I have to get my study permit approved from the airport upon arrival but is it possible if i can take my passport to the airport or some government office, while I'm already in Montreal, and obtain my study permit ???

Hello, I am in a similar situation.... I am still waiting for my study permit and I don't think i will get it on time cause I have my flight for the 19th of august. What happened to you finally??? thank you very much
