Study permit & open work permit

Hello，
I came to Canada 4 month ago owing a study permit, but wait for school so far. my wife is working here with a open work permit.
Because of financial problem, I want to apply open work permit as spouse.
But it seems impossible to have two statuses. Is there someone having the same situation with me?

You are not eligible for an OWP.
