Hi all!

Could anyone kindly help me with my nonstandard situation?

I need to prove my funds to get study permit (not Quebec; for a period of more than six months). The problem is that I had them in cash, and then put them into my new bank account. The source of the money is my parent, he got them some years ago from his relative who sold a property. My parent was a co-owner of that property, but the ownership ended some time before the selling agreement was signed by his relative. There is no document indicating that he gave those money to my parent or my family.

Please tell me how to prove the source of these funds. I know there were lots of visa rejects because of uncertain sources of funds.

Does you father have papers that he actually was a co-owner?

First of all, thank you for your reply.

My parent has an old passport (he has a new one now) indicating that he was a co-owner, let us assume, till 2005. We think the property was sold in the same year, maybe a couple of years after my parent's co-ownership had expired. We got money in cash from my parent's relative.

Something's very odd. How ownership could EXPIRE? And if ownership was lost why he still got money?

But if it is as laws in your country are then try to explain it to VO. Ask your relative to write a letter supporting your story and , maybe, provide papers showing that HE sold the property?

I am sorry, I was not clear. My parent has waived his share in the property before it was sold by his relative. But he gave money to my parent after that. I know, this is odd, but this is the situation.

Sure I will explain the situation to the VO. But I still need some documents, and I am asking for help to know what documents will support my explaination.

As far as I understand, I need:

1. To explain the situation in my own letter.
2. To ask the person who sold the property to write a letter and explain that story too.
3. To ask the person who sold the property to give some documents indicating that he is my parent's relative.
4. To ask the person who sold the property to give some documents indicating that he sold the property.
5. To ask my parent to sign the letter from the person who sold the property to show that he confirms the information. Hence, the letter will have two signs on it: my parent's and his relative's.
6. To show a document indicating that my parent was a co-owner of the property.
7. To ask my parent to write a letter confirming that he put the money in cash to my bank account.

Is that all? I also wonder if any of 2 (5) and 7 should be notarized or these documents can just be signed by the mentioned persons.
