I am a little confused now. I am applying for a student visa and my kids ( under 8 years ) are accompanying me. Do I need to apply for a study permit for them too? Or just fill out the normal visa applications for them.
Or will they get a permit when we reach canada and I am given a study permit?

Hi,

A minor must apply for a study permit in his individual capacity. Normally issued a visa for one year.

Exception (as applicable in your case) - A minor child who is already in Canada with parents on a study permit and who want to study in primary/secondary school DO NOT need a visa.
