Hello everyone,
My study permit is going to expire on February 2027. Just wanted to connect with people who applied for an extension recently. I would like to know more about the financial documents that we need to show. As per the standardized letter, it says living cost's about 22000 and tuition, at full course load, is 27000 so in total that's 49000.
My question is, do I need to show the full 49,000? I have been taking care of my tuition and living expenses for almost the 2 years now however, I do not have a huge amount of savings. I was wondering if it's enough to show about 10,000 in savings, tax files, and pay stubs for the extension.
I am trying to avoid reaching out to my family regarding any kind of financial support or documents and so on. I spoke with a bunch of friends who did their extensions before and they told me that it's not that serious and extensions are not scrutinized as much but IRCC is changing lots of things so I am just trying to know from individuals who applied recently and how it went for you. TIA
