Hello,

I'm currently studying at the university of Alberta. I applied for a study permit extension for 1 more year to finish my bachelor degree.

I applied on 18th June and the cic website says the processing time is 22 days.

I haven't got any anything from cic and I'm starting to worry about my visa cause my original study permit expires on 30 August.

Here's my questions:

1. Does the processing times on the CIC website mean 22 days of just working days or 22 days including weekends and holidays..?

2. I tried to call the CallCentre constantly but seems impossible to talk to any agents.

3. What would be the best thing I can do in my situation?

Thanks for your time.

As on July 16, 2014, they are working on application submitted on June 18th, 2014. http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/information/times/temp.asp

Oh so they don't calculate from June 18 I submitted?

I thought 22 days are from June 18.

I found these from the CIC website...

"Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application."
"It indicates the time (in calendar days) it takes to process an application after we receive a complete application package."

I thought the processing times listed on the CIC website represent the processing times for 80% of the applications on the submitted date finalized..

Almost close, today it's 26th working day and they are working on 18th June application.

I think the website says "in calendar days" which is different from "working days"

I googled it and calendar days means including holidays and weekends...

I'm just really confused...

I hope what you're saying is just right

On this webpage it states they are working on 18th June application. So, i guess you should be expecting soon.
