Study permit expired

Hello,

My study permit expired 6 months back and I did not know until now, I am currently in Canada and still attending university online, upon arrival to Canada, I was told I am allowed to stay in the country even if my permit expired but I would not be able to come back if I left until it is renewed. What are my options?

You're actually not allowed to remain in Canada after your permit has expired. You are required to maintain a valid study permit.

You've been in Canada withouth status / illegally for 6 months now. Hopefully you haven't been working. I'm not sure what this means in terms of your studies and ability to get a PGWP. You should post this question to the International Students section of the forum.

Overall, this is not a good situation.
