Dear all,

as I would like to apply for a study permit for Canada, some questions popped up - I would be glad if you could help me!

First, I do not have enough place to state my employment history in the form. On the CIC page, it's stated "If you need more space, print out another page of the form, fill in this section and submit it with your application." - so, do I have to hand in a complete second form (as I can't just extract the respective page from the pdf)? That seems to be a bit confusing for me ... Or do I have to -literally- print the form after filling it in and then scan it? Somewhere I've read that it is ok to just use a text document for the rest - but where would I hand that one in (as I can only upload one pdf per section and can't join the official form with others)?

Second, also for employment: Do I only have to state employments where I received money? Or also (non-funded) internships?

Third, do I have to print the whole form, sign and scan it, or do I just have to press the "verify"-botton and it will be fine?

Fourth, I will apply for a half-year stay. Thus, I was planning to state $8.000 for room and board and $3.000 for other in the "The cost of my studies will be"-section. This is only a rough estimate. Would that be ok?

Thanks for your help!

Best regards!

If you are applying for a program that is six months or less, then you should be applying for a visitor visa rather than a study permit.

Thanks for the fast reply! I need a study permit for on-campus work, that's why I'm not applying for a visitor visa.

CIC will most likely refuse your study permit application and tell you to apply for a TRV instead. If you want to be able to work, pick a course that is full time and at least eight months in duration.

Thanks for the tipps! As I am obliged to have a study permit (as stated in the Admission letter), and would like to have the option to prolong it, and have to work on-campus (it's part of the program), I will definitely need a study permit. Therefore, I will explain this to CIC, backing it up with the admission letter.

That aside, if somebody knows something regarding my questions above, it would be highly appreciated! Thank you!
