Hi Guys,

Please does anyone have an idea if it is possible to reapply for a Fall study permit that was refused. I actually applied since but I received the refusal letter this October. However, I had commenced my classes in July because I had paid the fees.

Hello Omofar, I heard that been refused once or twice reduces once chances of getting an approval. Pls how true is this?

Hello @Omofar I got refused my student visa today, I'm 23yrs old with just a WACE results. I would like to know if I can reapply or should I give up on it?

Im sorry I’m not Omofar
But when did you apply and what documents did you suppose
Also have you applied for your Gcms?

@Omofar please answer me this. A friend has a passport That’s due to expire in 15months time. But he’s expecting a PPR for a 2 year SP. Is it possible for him to be issued a visa beyond the expiry date on his passport?

It is not possible, he can only be issued up to the passport expiry date, he can then apply for extension after he gets a new passport

Hi Omofar,

Please I was rejected on the bases that they are not sure I will come back, so someone advice me to pay more than half of the tuition and reframe my letters and submit another application.

Please what would you advice me.
Thank you

No.

Canada issues visas less than or up to the expiration date of the passport

Cheers

Good strategy, but its not guaranteed, a client who has been to Canada before in the past, who has a current US and UK visa and paid his full tuition for a year was refused.

The IRCC are just discriminating arbitrarily.

All the best.

I agree with @Omofar. I applied for a study permit in March- single applicant, (paid only one semester fee and had POF of $40,000) and was denied due to 'low economic ties and insufficient funds'. I later reapplied in June via an Immigration Consultant- paid $2,000 for that- with the new application, I made full payment of the first year- $12,000 CAD, had approx $52,000 POF (from my savings and my spouse's savings), still a single applicant, paid 50% of AirBnB booking for 3 weeks (approx $350 USD), wrote a self-isolation plan, supported the application with our property documents to address the low economic ties... I was still refused after about 3 months. It's crazy! I was advised to go for Judicial Review- but honestly, I'm tired. Now, I have requested for a refund from the school- unfortunately on Airbnb, I'm only entitled to a $10 refund.
