. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/ section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors: • Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable

Any justification for this, my friend applied for study permit and his today his application was refused, the reason of refusal is very generic. He applied for one year graduate degree certificate he paid all the fees for whole year and also shown 50000 usd in financial statements

What can be do in this situation he wants to apply again. Any help would be highly appreciated

Order ATIP/GCMS notes. What is the program and school? PAL? Well why does he need to come to Canada for a one year program? How did justify costs with career progression and show ties to return? Was the bank statement his own money in personal accounts?

He did BBA in finance and he applied for one year graduate degree certificate at Sheridan college, the program was business analysis and process management. He has shown 50000 usd from his brother account which was his sponsor. Also One year fees was Fully paid. He had PAL too.

So he is over 22 and cannot afford his studies. Brother’s funds do not have to be considered at all. He needs to show $21k of his own funds. Is that a program even eligible for a PGWP? He has a BBA so how will this program allow for career progression and higher pay when he returns home? Consider MBA.

Most of the funds is a loan so really can’t afford this program and makes no sense to take out such a large loan for this program.

Hello friends,
I applied for 2025 September intake. My study visa was refused due to reasons given below. What can I do next? Please help.

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002- 227/section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• I am not satisfied that you will be successful in your program of study due to low language test results. Refused under R216(1)(b).

I have attached following with study permit application. Full course fees was paid by my sponsor (Cousin in Canada)
1. Transcript - B.tech along with IELTS (overall score 7 and not less than 6 individually. Confirmed with college that it meets the requirements of the course)
2. Acceptance letter from a designated learning institution (DLI)
3. PAL
4. ID proof - Aadhar card/ Passport
5. Passport
6. Financial proof - Sponsor
a. Bank statements
b. Employment + T4
c. Cover Letter explaining that full fees was paid and all remaining expenses will be taken care by Sponsor
d. Sponsor passport
e. Relationship proof with Sponsor
7. Letter of explanation -
a. Explaining why I chose Cybersecurity program after my B.Tech Computer Science
b. Why I choose Canadian York university
c. Family ties - Father's life insurance, Parents Id proofs along with my passport showing they are my parents
Indicated that I am only son and need to return to support my parents and grandparents
d. Parents' property paper
e. Community certificate as an active member and future intention to stay connected upon return to India

Please please advise on what could have gone wrong and what should I do next to apply again or appeal.

Thanks in advance.

What were your exact IELTS scores? Were you applying for a masters course? You have not show anything that IRCC considers ties. Are you currently employed, for how long and in what job? What is the approximate pay is CAD monthly? How old are you? Parents are not considered ties and if you are studying in Canada and not in India they don’t actually require your daily support. Would order GCMS notes for more detailed reason for regal before you consider reapplying

Order GCMS notes. Who your sponsor is may be part of the problem. IRCC wants to see that the student either has the funds themselves or if there is a sponsor, it is an immediate family member such as a parent. If your cousin is your sponsor, that significantly weakens your application.

Thanks for quick response.

1.Listening-7.5 Reading-7 Writing-6 Speaking-6.5 Overall-7
2. Applied for Post Graduate program certification - Cyber Security (8 months) eligible for PGWP
3. I am single, unemployed BTech Computer Science final year student (22 yrs old) who plans to continue education in Canada soon after B.Tech completes (June) in India. My letter of explanation included -
a. Showed parents' property and mentioned that I am only son who plans to return to take care of parents and grandparents on return.
b. Also explained the interest in Cybersecurity program which will help to enhance my career. As Cybersecurity offers high demand, good earning potential and allow to make a real world impact by protecting organizations from cyber threats
c. Paid my full tuition fees (amount: $18,314.00) and have sponsor funding to cover at least one year of living expenses (amount: $25,000).
d. Added community experience supporting under privileged kids’ education and highlighted a better job back in India to support my community cause.

My father is in real estate business and deals in cash so there are no proper bank statements but I can show 2 property in my father name and one under my name. As I am student, my Indian bank account shows transactions to manage my daily expenses and doesn't hold big saving. My sponsor (my cousin in Canada) can transfer some funds to my bank account but not sure if that will help as the IRCC concerns doesn't talk about sponsor or funding challenges.

Please suggest how I can improve my application.

1. What ties do you have to return. Parents property and being an only son is not a tie. Same for grandparents. Father's business dealings are not relevant.
2. You have no job so how can you justify costs. Why do you need to study in Canada when you just graduated and have no work experience. A cybersecurity course can be taken anywhere, even online.
3.You need to show your own funds of $21k. A sponsor, who is not a parent, may not be considered. So this is a first cousin? Transferring funds raises red flags.
4. What does community experience have to do with cybersecurity and give you a better job? Makes no sense.

I only wish to continue my education after B.Tech and CyberSecurity adds a niche skill and opens better career avenues. My family back home is my strongest ties who are well settled in India. My sponsor is my first cousin who is Canadian and has shown $25k for expenses other than my paid tuition fees.

Some of things I mentioned above was recommended on IRCC to show ties so not sure what else can I submit for ties? Please give some examples.

I would remove your cousin as the sponsor and have your parents sponsor you (or sponsor yourself).
