Hi everyone , i'm a 22 moroccan student,
I have been accepted into the Master's in Chemical Engineering program at the University of Ottawa, a 30-credit program. Thanks to a partial tuition waiver scholarship valued at $934 CAD per credit, my remaining tuition fees amount to approximately around 7,300 CAD per year. Combined with estimated living expenses of approximately 22,900 CAD as per IRCC guidelines, my total annual budget is around 30,200 CAD.
This is my second study permit application , in my first study application, I failed to adequately demonstrate the source of my mother's funds (I only provided her recent bank statements and current pension, without tracing the full history back to 2015) nor prove my ties to Morocco. The refusal was based on concerns about the origin of funds and my intention to return. This time, I have reconstructed the complete history (2015 death benefits, pension evolution, interim bank statements) and added my brother as a second sponsor, with his stable income (doctoral scholarship) and savings, which strengthens both the financial solidity and family ties.
Following my father's passing in 2015, my mother received death benefit payments totaling approximately 48,400 CAD, as clearly shown in her March 2015 bank statements. While we were unable to obtain official documents from the employer due to circumstances at the time, the bank records provide concrete evidence of these funds. From 2015 until late 2024, she also received a monthly survivor's pension averaging 1,640 CAD. This pension was legitimately reduced to around 806 CAD per month after I turned 21 in October 2024, as documented by official pension statements. My mother's current available funds (savings and checking accounts) total approximately 38,800 CAD.
Meanwhile, my brother has been financially independent since 2024 through a doctoral scholarship providing around 1,045 CAD monthly, which has allowed him to build personal savings of approximately 26,400 CAD , Before receiving his scholarship, my brother had already saved approximately 4,500 CAD. Combined, our family resources total approximately 65,200 CAD, more than double the estimated expenses for my first year of studies. I have also already paid a $1,000 CAD deposit toward my tuition, as confirmed by my university account statement.
The following documents are provided in support of my application:
What do y'all think about the situation , do y'all think i should add any documents ?
Thanks
