Hello guys,

I need your help/advice.
I'm US citizen and married to canadian citizen and we are planning to apply for outland PR application as soon as possible. I'm currently on visitor visa (6 months). I was planning to extend my visitor visa so i can stay with my spouse during the application, but i also want to attend university while waiting for my PR application results.

1. Is it possible to have outland application processing and get study permit (so i can stay here even if my visitor visa extension not granted).
2. Can I apply for student permit while being in Canada?
3. Is it too late to apply for august/september courses?

Thank you
looking forward for get some help

1. Yes - you can apply for a study permit.
2. No - you can't apply within Canada. You must send your application to a visa office outside of Canada.
3. It's certainly too late for universities. I don't know if it's too late for colleges - but suspect it is.

thank you for your response. just to clarify that i understood correctly. So I can not send the student permit application to outside canada visa office which I'm visiting canada? Is that correct? Do I have to physically be in USA to apply for student permit?
