Hi, I'm an international student here in Montreal, being Indian I have no surname on my passport, only my given name is provided which is VIJAY KUMAR.
Recently upon opening my bank account here in Canada, I've noticed that my first and last name are mixed up and the mistake I believe was from the Visa Application Center VFS Canada while I was submitting my biometrics.

My correct information on all documents is as such, the first name is VIJAY and the last name is KUMAR. But on the TRV Stamp and study permit, they are mixed up.
Based on what I've searched for, I need to apply for an amendment for my study permit. But I'm not sure whether this will fix the issue on my trv stamp and my name will be updated in their system.

Can anyone help me, or has anyone faced such an issue.
Please do consider replying as it would be helpful.

thank you

When you apply for amendment on your Study Permit it should solve your problem.

the same mistake has occurred on my counterfoil visa stamp on my passport, will that not cause an issue?
I believe that if I fix my study permit, they should update that in their system and It won't be an issue, right?

If you fix the mistake in your Study Permit, it would update in their system. However for your TRV you would need to apply it separately since when you might want to return to Canada airline officials and other countries' immigration officials might notice the difference in your new study permit and your TRV despite having made the correction with IRCC.
Re-applying for your TRV after amending your SP would solve your issue and all your documents would be in the same name as you want which will give you an ease of mind when travelling abroad and returning to Canada.

Thanks for the clarification, i did mail my study permit along with the supporting documents and hopefully, everything gets fixed.
