Hi,

I need to send my study permit for amendment, but I'm unsure whether doing so will affect my eligibility for the PGWP since my program is not on the updated list.

I'm trying to understand how the amendment process works and what changes occur when you receive the amended document. I assume the date of issue and the document number will be different because it’s considered a new document, but what about the application number? Will it remain the same as on the original study permit?
Is there any information on the amended study permit that links it to the original one?

Also, how does the amendment appear on the GCKey website? Does it show up with a new application number or under the original application I submitted?

What kind of amendment?

Hi, could you please clarify this for me? Everywhere I search mentions that I need to have working conditions printed on my study permit to be eligible. However, my study permit includes the following conditions:
  1. Must leave Canada by _____.
  2. Not valid for employment in businesses related to the sex trade, such as strip clubs, massage parlors, or escort services.
Remarks/Observations:
Temporary resident status maintained as per R183(5).

I have a SIN number because I have a CO-OP work permit, but I'm not sure if I can work or not.

Please I need insight on this.
Approved study permit was sent back to IRCC for amendment on 20th Dec as a result of IRCC error in course of study. Today BVL was received and on logging into IRCC the approved application now showing submitted.?

Hey-do you get an answer to this?

That is the default so no special conditions and you can work 24hrs/week when studying FT and unlimited hours during scheduled breaks.
Hey! I have a question regarding this. I had no special conditions on my permit regarding employment other than not permit to work in sex trade. I’m wondering if I am eligible to work while waiting for my pgwp if I did not have the eligible to accept off campus employment on my permit, even though I was eligible to work off campus. Thank you.

If an international student was excluded from working off campus once they have submitted their PGWP they would be able to work off campus.

Thanks for your response! Just to clarify — I submitted my PGWP application and I’m within the 90-day window after completing my program and my study permit is still valid.

I met all the eligibility criteria under R186(v) during my studies (full-time at a DLI, over 6-month program, valid SIN, etc.), but my study permit does not include the off-campus work condition (e.g. “May accept employment on or off campus…”). The only condition listed is that I’m not allowed to work in sex trade-related businesses.

My question is: Am I allowed to work while my PGWP is processing if the off-campus work condition was missing from my study permit, even though I met the criteria during my studies? Or must that specific condition be printed on the permit to be considered eligible under IRCC’s rules?

Thanks again.
