Hello Folks,

If you are applying for Student visa under SPP or non-SPP, please make sure you follow the checklist properly in terms of financials. Dont produce unnecessary documents, keep it simple. Bank loan, receipt of payment and GICs are sufficient.

On program of study part, finding a recognized educational instuition is very important. Doing a course just for Landing do not help. Do your homework, choose a course that is relevant to your field of study. The visa officers looks at this carefully.

IELTS Score - Overall 6 is mandatory for SPP institutions. 6.5 for University Masters/phd related studies. Sometime visa officers go easy on this. Depending on the students interest and relevancy to their undergraduate studies. That being said dont expect visa for less than 6 overall band (except rare cases).

I got admission at Western Ontario Uni. Canada for Ph.D. with funding of 27220CA$. Western Ontario is not under ACCC. Still I tried for GIC but could not get any response.
Now my question is whether i shall follow GENERIC or UNIVERSITY checklist..
please reply its urgent

Applied for Visa at CHC Delhi dtd. 29.07.13.
File reached on 31.07.13 and Under Process.

I also applied on 22nd July at VFS Chennai and the file reached CHC on 23rd. Today recieved an email from CHC saysing that my application for study or work in Canada has been approved. But it does not say anything about my passport.

Anyone who received the same mail ? what is the next step ? please advice
