Hi all,
I got admitted to the UOT for the fall semester 2013. I lived in the USA and Canada previously as a student, now after about 10 years - I am planning on going back to Canada for further studies.
My question is regarding the application for the student visa...
I understand if someone is to sponsor me (e.g a parent) they would need to show enough funds plus 4 months of the bank statement.
However, in my case - I actually have a dormant bank account at TD Canada in Ontario, which I have reactivated. I am planning on wiring the funds to my TD account - about 50-55k (more than enough - since my full years tuition plus expenses comes to about 28k).
The CIC website states that I can show proof of transfer of funds to Canada, as part of my application however if I do that - would I still need to send them my 4 month bank statement? Reason why Im worried about that is that the TD account would show a zero balance till the transfer since the account was pretty much inactive....
One of the reasons why Im sending the funds to Canada is because I sold some of my property in Pakistan in order to finance my studies --- I will be sending another 40-60k to Canada a few weeks before I actually fly over as well.
Also, Ill be applying from Pakistan for my student visa - anyone have any idea how long the processing takes since the CIC site states 6.5 months - which means I may miss my fall 2013 start as I wont be sending my application in till early May .....
