Student visa on visitor visa

I am visitor in Canada . I have earlier applied for one year course from the college and received the acceptance for the course. However my student visa was denied . The reason mentioned for denial was that I cant apply visa within Canada.

I wish to apply student visa again.
i have to do prerequisite course prior to main course?
what are basic criteria to select the prerequisite course based on which I can apply for student visa?

You have to apply outside Canada so those already in Canada usually apply through the US. Whether you need to do prerequisites depends on the course. Being approved for a study permit is often much harder if already in Canada because you need to prove that you have strong ties to your home country and will return home after your studies to be approved for a study permit. How long have you been in Canada? You must have family already in Canada if you are in Canada as a visitor. Family members already in Canada can create problems because proving ties to your home country becomes more difficult if you have family members in Canada. What is your education and work history? If you are born in 1979 you’d be in your 40s which makes it harder to prove you are a genuine student and it makes sense for you to return to school at this point in your life. Not impossible but much harder. What course are you applying for? An advanced degree like a masters or PhD would have a much higher chance of being approved.

You need to apply from outside of Canada regardless of the prerequisite course prior to main course.

You need to apply from outside of Canada regardless of the prerequisite course prior to main course.

You only need to send your application outside Canada you don’t have to be outside of Canada.
