I dont have enough funds to survive on my own haha, but would it be okay if i showed them i could live with my girlfriend for the duration of the time im there? I can also say that her mother is able to provide us some money too. would that sufice?

No - this won't be OK. Even if you plan to live with your girlfriend - you must still show you have sufficient funds to pay for your living expenses if you want the study permit to be approved (specifically, you need to show at least enough funds to cover first year tuition + $10K in living expenses). If you can't show these funds, the application will be refused by CIC and there's unfortunately no point applying.

Really? I'll have more then enough to live with them though, they have a payed off house and everything?

Again, you need to show a bank balance covering first year tuition + $10K to cover living expenses if you want to be approved for the study permit. It doesn't matter that you plan on living with someone - you still need to demonstrate you have these funds if you want to be approved.

If you don't have enough money - then you really have two options: (1) take out an education loan from your home country to cover the amount you are missing; (2) have a close family member (e.g. parent, uncle, aunt) provide their bank statement with the required funds and have them write a letter of support to confirm they are willing to fund your education.

Okay, if I have a grandparent say they can fund it, do they HAVE to give me the 10,000 if i dont use it? like how does it work? sorry im just trying to figure a way out.

I've already answered your question above. They need to provide a bank statement proving they have the funds and commit to supporting you. Whether you actually use the money is up to you.

So if I take out a student loan for tuition payed, and have my grandparents bank statement of 10,000, I should be fine?

That's the minimum you need to show. However there's no guarantee you'll be fine. CIC could still have concerns and refuse you for financial or other reasons. No one here can tell you that. You'll find out when you apply.
