Student visa and Spouse work permit

Hi

My wife has been approved to a college in BC for fall of 2013. I am in the US on H1B which expires in September 2013. I plan to apply for

a) Student visa for my wife
and
b) Open work permit for Spouse (me)

Questions
1) Can we apply together or can I only apply for b) after a) is approved?
2) I know that she can apply online for a) student visa and it takes about a month. Can I apply for b) Open work permit for Spouse online too? Or should I send in a paper application?

Please provide details and any advise that can help. Would also love to hear from anyone who has done this.

its better if you apply both at the same time.
Just submit all the docs of ur wife and your docs and marriage certificate.

it is better apply together as if rejected you will both get rejection and on approval both get approval

Yes you can apply online for both I think. But different CIC account needed.
