Hello all,

My name is Akil and I belong from india. Recently I was refused a student permit to Canada. I applied through an agent and provided all the supporting documents that were required, however after waiting for 5 weeks I was refused the student permit for the following reason (s):

Given your academic performance, your language ability in specific bands and considering your proposed course of study, your travel history and ties to your home country, I am not satisfied you would be a bona fide student and a temporary resident.

It was also mentioned in the letter that I was welcome to reapply if i can respond to the mentioned concerns and can demonstrate that my
situation meets the requirements.

I strongly feel besides improving my ielts or toefl score there is nothing more I can do. Having said that, is it advisable re-apply again as I do not want to be disappointed by the same reasons again for which I cannot do anything.

A bit about myself : my academic performance was not great because I had a disturbed school life. Proposed course of study was related to automotive (I have 7 years of experience in the same, I do not understand how is it not related). Travel history, I haven't travelled enough in my life as I was collecting funds for this program which I intended to study from 2010. Ties to home country: I was raised in Dubai but besides that my parents are from india, i was married in india, college and university also from india.

I would appreciate anyone who can assist me with their expertise.

So you have 7 years experience in the automotive field but now you want to study automotive ? Could that be the reason that is being questioned that with 7 years automotive already that any course is not going to build on that.

So maybe you need a convincing case that your automotive skills you will gain in Canada will be significant benefit in your home country even though you have many years experience already.

Please advise the following, online or paper application, date of apply & date of final decision received & applied from where & for Sept. 17 or Jan 18 intake? Moreover, the reason mentioned is the standard one so please apply for CAIPS notes to know the actual reasons of refusal which includes Visa officer notes.

Paper application (via agent)

Date of final decision : 15th Sep

The reason mentioned may not be standard as all the reasons mentioned were classified under "others"

I mentioned standard in a sense that not specify the actual reason, given multiple reasons e.g. @ Given your academic performance, your language ability in specific bands and considering your proposed course of study, your travel history and ties to your home country, I am not satisfied you would be a bona fide student and a temporary resident. / So, my advise to apply for CAIPS notes to know the actual reasons of refusal which includes Visa officer notes. Decision is yours.

No, this doesn't make sense. Every car dealership has sales agents (presales) and service agent (postsales). My experience for 7 years is as sales agent and the program I intended to study was more of technical hands on training (which is a service agents job). This program would help me get a job as a service agent which is where my real interest is.

I get your point. Would you know how can I do that? Thanks very much.
