Student Permit on Old Passport - Is this an issue for getting PGWP?

Hi,

My name is Ronit Sharma (Indian) and I will apply for the Student Permit in a month.
I have a 16 months MBA and I will get a student VISA till Sep,2019 as my course starts in May, 2018.
I wanted to ask one thing about my passport. My passport expires on 1st Jan, 2020. Now the thing is that if apply for PGWP with the old passport after September, 2019 , my passport will be valid for 2-3 months only and then I will have to extend my PGWP after getting a new passport. (As we get a PGWP only till the validity of our passport).

What I am going to do is that I will apply for a new passport in September, 2019 , then I will get a new passport within 2-3 weeks and then I will apply for PGWP as my new passport will be valid for at least 5-10 years.
Now my concern is : Will there be a problem if my Student Permit is based on my old passport number? Will it be fine if I apply for PGWP with a new passport?

Need this clarity ASAP.

No Need to Worry. I have renewed my passport before I got my PGWP. My study permit has old passport number too. Your Old passport number will be in your New Passport's last page as well. You should be OK.
