student permit extension wait time

Hello guys,

Family friend student permit expires Dec 31.

Due to low marks she won't graduate and will be applying for student visa extension this Dec 4/2023

Jusf wnt realistic timelines, lawyer she has says no problem extension will come in 2-3 weeks.... but online shows longer processing times...

Anyone in similar situation waiting for study permit extensions?

Also how long does it take for enrollment letter to come. if applying for visa study extension?

I don't know what the published AVERAGE times are now for processing, back in the spring it was shown about 6 weeks and that is what it took for us. The lawyer might be being very optimistic. It will depend on how complex the situation is.
