Hi all,

I need any insight regarding my son who will come to Canada with a visitor visa.

1. As he's 18 years old, I believe he should apply for a study permit independently, not linking to my study permit (while still mentioning my status as an international student). Is this correct?

2. If he applies for a study permit inland for a 2 or 3-year program, how many POF should we show? 1-year tuition fee and 2/3-year living cost?

3. Any advice on what should be reflected in the letter of explanation, especially ties to the home country?

Any insight will be appreciated.

Thanks.

1. If he is going to be studying at the post-secondary school level (i.e. university or college), then he needs to apply for a study permit separtely as an international student.
2. First year tuition costs + $10K for living expenses.
