Student expulsion

Hi all.
A student came to Canada for Jan 2020 intake. He attended 10-15 classes from Jan to April but did not submit any assignments, did not appear for any of the exams and has been expelled by the college on June 1 2020. He has a 2 yr study permit. Will taking admission in another DLI and applying for change of DLI solve the issue? Or does he need to apply for Visitor Record?

He will most likely be rejected if he applies for another study permit, study permit extension or PGWP. However, he is still able to switch DLIs if he wants to under his current permit

Schools are supposed to report on enrolment to IRCC. It's quite possible that the school has or soon will report his expulsion and that his study permit will be cancelled.
