PSLRB upheld the PAFSO complaint
However no remedial action was ordered - just both sides encouraged to come to an agreement

Not really meaning anything other than a slap on the wrist for the govt.

Indeed this does not mean anything...

Also parliament is delayed until Oct 16th. So no back-to-work legislation in sight for a while. The strike continues...

Why is everyone so concerned about the strike?

Its not affecting CEC and people are getting their application processed on time

Imagine nobody is on strike and applications are processed even faster.

I imagine slowing down one part of the organization increases the workload for everyone else, at least indirectly. Plus people here are also going for bridging work permits and so on, so it's to be hoped that they resolve this strike soon.

dude, kindly read the article in toronto star & metro (toronto edition). Because of the strike, all the visas (I MEAN ALL) are affected. the processing time is longer than expected. Also, my cousin is stranded in Canada (he is getting married next week) because he couldnt get his PR visa stamped on his Indian Passport which he has submitted in the second week of August 2013.

So dude, everybody is getting affected by this stupid strike.

Pafso wins the ruling-

Lets see when they go back to work...........

I said back in June this strike has no end in sight. It's not like Canada Post or the garbage workers, which are strikes that actually affect voters...this strike costs Clement and the tories no political capital and it carries minimal chances of any backlash. They'll happily drag it well into 2014 if PAFSO can play along. This is obvious from Clement's tone, which is much harsher and steadfastly dismissive than in any of the other labor disputes he was part of. He has zero respect for PAFSO.

I think it's becoming quite obvious that this strike won't end until PAFSO is bankrupt and can't pay off its members. And Forget Back to Work legislation...won't happen.
