This form is asking for an email address for my mother and father.

Do they contact your family at all?

I'm estranged from my family and would really rather they not be contacted.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

No, they typically do not contact anyone. That form is usually used to build a profile for future visa applications. Just don't provide an email address, it's not a big deal.

Thank you! That makes me feel a whole lot better. They're jerks and that would have complicated this already-too-complicated process by a thousandfold. (I am gay. They are homophobic, and very against gay marriage. I don't need the nasty texts/emails from them)

Yeah, just put their names, last known location and birth dates. Make up email addresses if you like. This isn't a material fact.

Hmm actually.. I see you're doing a family class sponsorship. In that case, IRCC does sometimes attempt to contact the family to verify the marriage.

In your application, you should write a letter explaining that your parents have not accepted your sexual orientation and that you are completely estranged from them and you specifically do not wish IRCC to ever contact them. If you're from a country where it is common to discriminate against LGBTQ people, mention that as well. They will respect your wishes.

Of course you will need to prove that your marriage is genuine, but you can do that without your parents chiming in.

My father is long deceased and my mother doesn't have a computer or even a mobile phone, never mind email. You could simply say "unknown" or N/A if you don't have it. Also as has been said, maybe put an explanation of your parents' objection to your sexual orientation and that you are estranged. I've found the best thing to be is 100% honest with CIC. They've seen/heard it all, so just explain your situation, have lots of other proof or your relationship, and I'm sure they case officer will understand.
