Hi guys,

Lately, there's been an evident change in wordings of Ip1 and Ip2 statuses. Some say that the wordings are now same for both stages, some people get the IP1 wordings and stay there until PPR, some seem to skip IP1 and stay for months in what we thought was IP2 status. It is clear that the old system distributed in here and Whatsapp groups is no longer a reliable source of information. I've created this thread to find out if anyone knew what is going on here...

From my own observations based on what I see in myimmitracker for May 2018 AOR, only CEC applicants, and FSW who have had previous long-term experience in Canada skip IP1 and go directly to IP2 status. It would seem like good news, but there are people who stay in this status for months, which, according to the old system, was not supposed to happen.. so it makes me wonder.. Are they implementing a new approach?

Thanks for starting this thread. The same thing happened with me, I was in Canada on a work permit back in 2010 and for me after my medicals the status shows as IP2. Not sure if this has any significance but the norms are not being followed anymore.

Thanks, I just hope that someone knows what is happening, as everyone after ITA are so eager to know the timing and it is so confusing seeing that PDF that says and PPR is triggered so soon after IP2, but the cases here prove it wrong. I hope that people in the same situation as us can connect here and determine the pattern that may help many others after us.

Hi,

Same thing happened to me.
AoR: May 7
MEP/IP2: May 16
On May 16, I checked my account every 2 hours, and I found the status changes as below.

updated - 10:36 am (KST)
Submitted - 11:19 am
Updated - 1:16 pm
Submitted - 6:36 pm

and still 'submitted' status.

I got an open work permit (working holiday visa) for 1 year in 2012.
I stayed in Canada for almost 1 year in 2012-2013.

I found other similar cases that skipped IP1, and they got PPR after 1 or 1.5 month from IP2.

Not sure why this happens, just wanna add that I'm CEC inland and I too skipped IP1.

My application changed to IP2 the same days my MED was approved. It remained like that til my PPR, which was different from everyone else's (details on my signature and on Immitracker comment's)

Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience and congratulations on your PR! From your case it looks like the case does move after GCMS request after all :) Do you remember what your notes said around that IP2 status?

Thanks! Yes, I'd say GCMS notes help get it moving. I recommend ordering it.

Not sure what you're asking me. The summary of my notes showed:

Assessment:

Eligibility: Recommend pass
Criminality: In progress
Medical: Passed
Info sharing: Complete
Security:

However, the notes at the end mentioned "Home country police certificate provided NRT R10 OK Recommendation: Pass criminality", along with some other "recommend passes" from employment.

Mine is similar. AOR 17th May and yesterday was my first time to check my status, and it shows like this:

You passed the medical exam (I don't know what date I passed it tho)
We are checking whether you meet the eligibility
We do not need additional document
We are processing your background check (Also have no idea since when it was)

Seems like IP1 -> IP2 was happening during the last 2 weeks or IP1 just was skipped and directed to IP2? Only God knows...

I have AOR May 21st, and Medicals passed/IP2 yesterday. I also received an email a few hours ago saying my account was updated, but no changes are visible in there.
