status from “worker” to “visitor”

I applied for visitor visa inside Canada. My WP will expire on 30 July.
I choose "extend my status as a visitor" in the application form.

Application processing time for me:
1. Visa inside Canada (8days)
or?
2. Visa extension (58days)

I thought it would be faster than WP application, now I'm worried that it will be longer and I will not receive an answer before the end of the month.

I will be grateful for the answer.

If you applied for visitor visa from within Canada, it should be complete soon. My wife applied for visitor visa from within Canada last year in Dec 2017 and it was approved within a week. Have you received yours yet?
