We got an RQ about 5 months after the exam. We sent all the RQ documents about 3 months ago, recently the status changed from "In Progress" to "Decision made". Is this a good sign, or bad?

A good sign most probably. Soon you'll receive the oath ceremony invitation letter.

What was the reason for the rq what sort of information did they ask for
We have no idea, our file was complete. We own a house, had jobs throughout the entire duration, kids in public schools, we had all travel dates documented, etc.
They asked for a complete RQ.

hi - I applied with less than 1095 days of physical presence as my job profile involved travelling.

but I had been living and working and living in Canada for the last 5 years.

I got an RQ after my test and finally I have been invited for oath taking.

the whole process took 13 months since application submission to oath .

while filling up the RQ:
A) i made sure you declare all travels without fail
B) i backed it up with proper reasons . I just provided letter from employer stating that my job invpolves frequent travel.
C) t4`s and noa`s for all previous years.
D) proof of residence just for current house (did not provide any proofs for previous residences)

I'm surprised they have not sent your application to a citizenship judge.
