My consultant told me there ISN'T an online portal for SUV applicants, so applying through paper is the only way for the SUV program. Is it correct?
This changed in 2021. From September 2021 until now SUV applicants can send their application both paper-based and online. And from what I see, I conclude that the IRCC prefers online applications. Some lawyers still prefer paper because it allows them to include as many documents as they want to create a strong case, because online they don't have much freedom to upload (for file size limit and quantity)

Hi friends, is the long delay in landing time of a member who already got approved WP will effect to SUV 's 'processing time? anyone has experience on this please share with many thanks in advance... this WP is applied under SUV.
Dont think it will affect the processing time, since currently the applications are being processed serially. But when your file is picked up, they may ask you the business progress. Since you received a WP, they may specifically expect you to show progress in the Canadian business. Your incubator/ fund can suggest you more on what you can do. Also, I recommend doing a soft landing in Canada if you have been approved. Go to Canada temporarily, do your landing formalities and get your WP issued. Again, take the advise of your incubator / fund on this. Hope this helps!

Having a AOR doesn't change much in terms of speeding the process. Even if online applications got AOR sooner than paper-based applications they need to wait in the queue.
Yes possibly. All online applications (including EE, WP, etc) get AOR immediately and request for biometric. But then they just get added to the queue, so it maybe pretty much the same.

I know an SUV applicant, who submitted his case in July 2020 and recently received his medical request after submitting document updates. I also know another applicant who applied in August and received his medical a few weeks back. I believe your waiting time would end soon. Let us know here when you get it, please.

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post on this forum but I have been following inputs from all of you for a while now. I appreciate and thank everyone for sharing their knowledge here.

I am in the process of applying for PR under SUV program and wanted to know that if in our LOS we mention that we will be applying for WP (urgent reason to come to Canada) but we actually do not apply for WP and wait for PR only. Will this have any negative impact on our application at the time of PR processing by immigration officer.

We are double minded as should we mention this in LOS or not because we may or may not need the WP in next 1-2 years.

It would probably have negative impact on your pr application if you did mention urgent reason for wp on the los but you don't ask for wp. Unless you somehow justify that, because you need to show the business progress during waiting time for pr.

Applying for WP is an option for SUV applicants and there's no line of rules to say it's mandatory. But have in mind that the IRCC officer will be asking for a progress report to see if you take your project seriously, whether or not you applied for WP.
