Hello all,
I am sponsoring my spouse and one of the documents required is his birth certificate. However, at the time of his birth wrong name was printed on the birth certificate. But all his other official documents have the correct name. Changing the name in he birth certificate is a lengthy process and we do not want to delay in submitting our application.
Has anyone been in the same situation? what can we do in this case?
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks

You can send it with an explanatory letter and hope for the best! I'd suggest you send it then immediately start the process of updating the name. So in case they ask for an updated one later you can provide it.

As noted, you can apply with a letter of explanation. It would strengthen your case if you could show some evidence that you'd applied or started process of getting birth certificate fixed (and that it takes a long time).

No guarantee this will be accepted but it seems (oddly) not that unusual a problem in some countries.

Write a letter explaining it and also get an affidavit.
