Hi, I came in Canada as an international student in 2022. My study will be done by 2026. Meanwhile I want to go home and marry my lover. According to new law from September 2024 no spouse will get open work permit. Is it applicable for me to? Cause I came before this time frame. I am in the Fanshawe college now.
If possible can you please tell me the best way to apply for her?

Applicable to you if not a Masters or PhD. She is not eligible, as this comes into effect in the next few weeks not in September.

Could even be in place already. Announcement said in the next few weeks but realistically we have no idea when new rules about SOWP are set to start and may have already started or could begin in 2,4,6, etc weeks. All applications except masters and PhD could have been put on hold. There have also been no details about children wishing to accompany their parents who are studying just spouses. When mentioned exception for elementary and secondary education did Minister Miller mean students studying at the elementary/secondary level without family in Canada or did he mean children accompany parents on temporary permits too. Many unknowns.
