hello. just want to clarify about the submission of the passport. is it true that the sponsored person needs to cancel his/her residency/working visa here before they will give you the visa? pls clarify

Yes the sponsor should cancel the visa to proceed with passport requisition

Sponsor approval: January 8 2014 (sent to Abu Dhabi)
Acknowledment letter and additional docs requested: March 16 2014


Heard nothing from them again
Ecas still says "application received and second line says medical received. The status hasn't changed no idea why.. Anyone experience ecas to be slow with updates?


My question is : the current processing times is 15 months on CIC website. Do we count 15 months from the month we sent our application or from the day we received the acknowledgment letter? Please help me out.

15months time counts from the date file transferred to Abu Dhabi office. Its clearly mentioned on the cic website.

Did you get an Acknowledgement Letter from Abu Dhabi Visa Office? They send a Change in Mailing Address form which needs to be filled in and submitted to the Visa Office. You can submit the form as follows:


1. Mail to Immigration Section, Canadian Embassy, P.O. Box 6970, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

2. Fax/ email to +97126940396 / abdbi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Wooooah! I started my wife's application last Nov and i'm loosing my patience that is taking so long but i just saw someone who started Feb, 2013 and still waiting. OMG! how could this people separate spouse for so long. My wife's ecas changed to in process last week, fingers crossed.

Hi to all! My application is spouse/family sponsorship thru Abu Dhabi VO. Last year 2014 I can view my status online my application on process thru E-cas ,but now I cannot check my status? I recived Medical request on Feb 1 2015. Medical done Feb 18,2015 in Abu Dhabi . I called the Clinic they told me they foward the Result already to Canadian embassy . I try to check to E-cas the status of my application , still I cannot view? Any body have same case?

Option-1: the cic website has instruction on how to apply for it then go to Canadian embassy in Riyadh and collect the request form at the Embassy gate that should be submitted to Saudi Police
Option-2: Ask your country Embassy in riyadh to provide a request adresses to Saudi Police clearance Dept.
