Hello,
My husband and I want to study in Canada, I want to get a 2nd degree and he is getting his first. We both applied for a study visa separately as advised by an immigration agent, I used my mum as my sponsor and my husband used his half brother. I got approved but my husband didn't.
Reasons: Personal assets and reason for the visit.
We decided that it would be best to sponsor himself, he has a successful business and has a manager to manage the business when he is away. We wrote quite a compelling letter of explanation as well as attached my own study visa page so they know we are doing this together. We attached our marriage certificate, his business incorporation, personal bank statement and business bank statement that had the full school fees in them, the admission letter and a few supporting documents from his previous place of work and what he has been doing since leaving. We submitted his application and received a letter of refusal a month after.
Reasons: Purpose for Visit Only
School resumption is in January 2022 and we were hoping to both be in Canada together. We don't understand what to do anymore. We were advised that since I already have a study visa, he qualifies for an open work permit. The work permit takes 8 months to be processed in my country and that after I get my study permit which will be issued on arrival in Canada. We were also advised to apply for a visiting visa for him and he can apply for a study visa or a work permit in Canada.
Please I need advice on the way forward. I would really appreciate any help we can get.
