I got married in month of Febrauary this year. He is a citizen of Canada. We got our marriage registered as per Hindu Marriage act. Is it mandatory to have the photos of couples in marriage certificate? Since as per this act photos will not be provided. Please advice how to proceed further & apply for further documentation which is required for immigration purpose. We are totally struck.

It is necessary for everyone. It is also necessary for you to prove that the marriage is genuine, especially if there is a significant departure between how you got married and how people in your country and culture generally get married.

Is there a reason why you didn't do traditional or religious ceremonies?

Our marriage was conducted paying due respect to religious beliefs & customs.
My question is, as per hindu marriage act, photos of husband & wife will not appear in the marriage certificate. Is it ok? Can we proceed further to submit the same for application process? Or is it mandatory to have photos in the marriage certificate?

They aren't expecting you to have photos of you in the marriage certificate, unless the country specific instructions say that you must.

They are expecting photos of your wedding ceremonies.
