Spouse sponsorship - basic questions

Dear forum members,
my situation is pretty standard: I've applied for FSWP and has been granted visa recently. Now I olnly need to complete my landing and get my PR.
While waiting for the desicion on my application I met a person whom I'd like to marry and who's not canadian citizen. I've studied CIC website n this forum but some questions still remain:
1. If we register our marriage in Canada, is it mandatory for my spouse to return to the homecountry and wait for the decision on our application there?

Are you living with this person? If so, have you lived with them for a year or more?

No, we live separately. Moreover, we live in different countries.
That is the main reason for not getting married earlier and adding my spouse to FSWP application.
