Hello all, I am an Indian, living in canada for the last 7 years (PR). I knew this girl (indian living in india - same community) through a matrimonial site couple of months ago, i have been chatting/talking/video chatting with her everyday since 2nd week of march. Both our parents (both families are in india as well) met around 2nd week of april and when everything went well between the families, I and this girl confirmed that we both wanted to get married. I am going to get engaged to her in the month of June when i am going to india.
Though we are planning to have a traditional hindu wedding ceremony/reception by the end of this year when i get some holidays, due to my work-holiday restrictions (3 weeks/year) and in order to expedite the process of immigration, we both are contemplating doing a registered marriage in India right after the engagement, just with the closest family members around and then applying for her immigration soon after i come back to canada by end of june (obviously i am the sponsor). That way, there is a high possibility that she will get her immigration completed and would be able to come to canada by the end of this year. We have lots of phone call/chat/email histories, our engagement is a traditional one (in a hall with around 150 ppl invited) which means we can have tons of pictures during ceremony, we will meet a couple of times in June before the engagement which means we can have more pictures of us together with the family as well as just us two.
I am not sure if this will be a problem/issue in processing her application. Though I believe that as long as we fill the application properly and follow the procedures properly, there will not be an issue about not having the traditional ceremony/reception/honeymoon photos, I would really appreciate any feedback/opinions/information from you all, possibly more factual information (previous instances/cases, actual facts etc..) than predictions. Do you know of any friends/families who have done this before? Please advise and help.
