Hi guys. My situation is a bit difficult. I honestly don't know how screwed i am. So here is the situation:

Me and my husband studied in Canada years ago. His study permit expired, and he overstayed for aound 8 months. During this time, he did not quit his old partime job, he continued working there for another 6 months, and enrolled 1 course.
After I found out that his study permit expired and restoring his status was no longer an option, we moved back to Europe. He did not receive any notice from immigration agency, he left of his own accord.
Now i am planning to move back to Canada, I am studying French to apply for EE French stream, but i was told that IRCC could refuse my PR application because of my husband's immigration history.
I personnally never had any misconduct during my stay in Canada, no overstay, no unauthorized work or study.
Has anyone had or heard simiar experiences? I am genuinly concerned about my situation, is divorce the best option for me now?
