Spouse open work permit

Hi All,
I need help in below two queries.

1.I am here on closed work permit and my husband have spouse open work permit which he got based on my work permit.

now both of ours work permit expired and my company has filed the work permit extension for me and visitor visa for my husband.


We have PR application in progress and i Primary applicant and spouse is secondary.

is there any way he can continue to work either by applying BOWP? OR

can i apply for his spouse open work permit without getting mine? I have online confirmation of my work permit submission.

is there any possibility of getting WP for him?

I know that he can apply based on my work permit but the issue is i am still waiting for my extension. Due to covid, there are delays.

i need to know without my work permit in hand . Is there anything i can do to apply for his open work permit extension?
