Again, I am getting ahead but I guess it's because this means a lot to me.

As for TA/RA, I have no idea... I am not that concerned about it at the moment. I believe I will have a TA, which doesn't count as Canadian experience? (And yes, it's not continuous, only a semester or two per year). I suppose it's like that on all the universities in Canada. I wonder how PhD students meet this requirement, then.

Don't know the details of that. But you should only apply for PR via CEC when you can fulfill all requirements of 1 year full time work experience. I believe you can find details under CEC's web details. Also you can ask question / search existing details on the forum category for CEC.

I have a question...Is always the client Id(UCI) will be remain same whether the application gets rejected or approved.
Also kids have to undergo Medicals with parents or is there any age limit for childrens... will wait for your response..

Hi Kalpan,

Sure - UCI remains the same. You have to enter that if you are applying for the second time and probably they can locate it any way even if you don't. Might just delay app processing or could even produce worst results.

All kids have to undergo medicals if they are going with parents on work permits. However, the types of tests depend upon age.

For e.g. in my home country a normal person undergoes urine, blood, chest xray in addition to normal height, weight, vision, physical examination.

For a child who is 5 plus, only urine test is required from the first 3 (blood and xray exempted).

For a younger child (under 5), even that is not required. However, they try to generalize every thing according to age i.e. height, weight, behaviors etc. and note down even minor things.

For instance my younger son who was 2.5 at that time but had a delayed speech - was reported for below normal growth chart. CIC latter asked for further evaluation for him and only approved all of our files after getting a specialist assessment for his growth. Mostly their focus was towards ensuring "not excessive burden on Canadian health care system".

My husband just received the email of approval from CHC-New Delhi (he will get his passport today from VFS).
Here is our timeline:

Applied (Paper based): 12th May 2014
Additional Documents Requested (Relationship Proofs): 29th May 2014
Additional Documents sent: 2nd June 2014
Medical Request: 3rd June 2014
Medical Done: 7th June 2014
Visa Approval Email: 19th June 2014

Please note: This was our second application for SOWP, we applied online 1st time in December 2013.

Hope this gives an idea of current avg timeline (though it looks like the timeframe of applications being processed is really case based).

Hi all,

I applied for Spouse open work permit to CIC Islamabad, Pakistan on March 11, 2014 and have had Biometrics scan on April 02, 2014. Subsequently received Medical Information letter on May 22, 2014. I have had Medical Examination on May 29,2014 and status has been changed to Medical examination passed since June 04, 2014. Can anybody give me an idea that how long it will take them to proceed with my application?

Still i did not get passport request letter, last friday i got passport request letter from MP but it was in XFDF extension file so i cant open that file, than i requested in pdf format but still no response so i dont know what to do now, wheather to go directly to embassy with passport otherwise they will close my application, My lawyer said that you can direclty courier your passport to embassy with cover letter. any suggestion fkl.......

I don't think opening xfdf file should be a huge issue. Try getting latest adobe reader and open it from reader itself (to make sure the same is actually used for opening). Often latest reader is installed but double clicking opens it with browser or with an older version installed. Or you could try notepad or other text editor too.

Probably if you have received PPR (even if you cant read it), it is okay to courier it to embassy. As far as i know there is no concept of in person delivery or collection of passports under any circumstances. Not in my home country, but i dont expect india to be much different.

CIC guys are busy people - so no response on changing formats is expected though i agree they should use standard pdf in the first place.

Any way try opening it first and attach it along if you can. Else courier your passport with any detail that you can attach.

mine was exactly the same case... rejected first time online and for second time, i got additional documents request (& once we submitted those documents my husband got medical request). We sent photos (atleast 2/3 pics from each year... we dated for 8 yrs so had many.. also any trips we took... and lots of pics of wedding and reception..put the dates and place behind the pics).. for documents we sent in emails, chats, skype history and whatsapp chat messages from last 8 yrs and ofcourse the questionnaire!

They sent back the pics with the passport! Though no guarantee they will send it back (they did not send it back for a friend of mine).

can you please tell me almost how many wedding pics and other pics you sent ?
in my letter, they ask wedding pics and 20 another causal pics
we also dated for 7 yearas, and took so many trips for study,so have all evidence...
and please also tell me how many pages of call history and viber history you sent?
because i have more than 300 pages for call history for 1 year only, so confused whether they accept this much pages or not?
and if possible can you sent me question-answer by email on aminpayal @ yahoo.in, i understand that's you personal things and its completely ok, if you not send me, but please answer above questions,i am under so much pressure ....
