I applied spouse open work permit on 2024, got rejected due to in correct documentations. So applied dependant visitor visa on 2025 dec for me and my 2 kids showed proof of funds CAD 22500 in my home country and CAD 10000 in spouse account however application rejected due to large unexplained deposits. I won't be apply SOWP since spouse work permit will in less than year. Have 2 options either I need to wait for my spouse work permit extension then apply sowp or apply dependant visitor visa for myself and study permit for kids. Can anyone suggest whether I can apply for dependant visitor visa with sufficient funds after 3 months or wait for spouse extension and apply SOWP. Additionally please suggest how much fund is necessary for smooth approval.
Thanks in advance

So what type of permit is your spouse on? When does it expire? What is spouse's job?

There is no such thing as a dependant visa, it is a TRV or visitor visa. Usually $10k cash minimum per person for a 2-3 week visit. You aren't coming to visit but stay. Was funds only reason and will not leave Canada? You and your children don't have family ties to return or any times so chances of approval are low.

How are you getting a SOWP extension if your SOWP was refused?

My spouse is working in Canada with closed work permit and it expires on mar 2027 with TEER 0 NOC.
Refusal reason for visitor was below.
You will not leave based on following factors.
applicant's visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay provided details.
Asset and financials are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for family, proof of funds provided contains large unexplained deposits.

My spouse extension since I am not eligible based remaining tenure eligibility.

So you are not eligible for a SOWP since his closed permit expires in less than a year. You are not coming for a temporary stay because your spouse lives in Canada, you have no plans to leave if you plan for kids to study and not enough cash in the bank.

So chances of TRV approval for your family is almost nil. If you want to visit your husband then apply alone. Your children are your ties to return. That is not enough so need to show your job letter with approved leave, business, income property etc. For a two week visit, show a minimum of $10k cash with 4-6 months of bank statements, and documentation where the money came from. If want to stay longer then $20k per person for more than a month.

Children not eligible for study permit if spouse's work permit expires in less than a year.

How long was spouse's work permit because only can be extended in specific situations with a new LMIA?
