Hello,

I made a thread about sponsorship a week ago and just wanted to ask a question out of curiosity.

As a spouse of a Canadian, am I allowed to go be with my wife across the US/Canadian border and then apply for sponsorship? I am aware of the travel advisory but I am curious.

Yes, you can do that.

You can’t move though so you won’t be able to move all of your belongings.

All of my belongings are already there since December since I travel weekly before this pandemic happened.

You may encounter problems if you keep crossing the border. Are you planning on crossing daily or multiple times a week?

Oh no, I mean before this pandemic happened, I was crossing the border weekly or bi weekly for 2 years. Though this year we tried to start a inland sponsorship. I'm just giving my job a couple weeks before I move and stay for the year or longer that is required until everything works out.
Just hoping that OPW takes 2 to 4 months but it probably take 6?

OWP rarely takes 2 months. It is usually closer to 4. It may be longer now.
