spouse last name question

Hello there and thanks in advance for reading , I am in the process of applying for my wife and my only problem is that she has never used her last name anywhere and neither on her passport . I am wondering should I get her to add her last name or my last name on her passport before I apply or should I leave the last name blank on the application as she does not have any supporting document to prove her last name before marriage.

Tell us more. What country is she from? Is it common there to not use last names?

Hello there , its from India and no there is no real reason why she never used her last name , actually I just asked her to add my last name on to her passport If it makes things easier .

It will certainly make things easier if she uses your last name on her passport.
