Hi All,

My spouse was Holding a PR with a status of 'Single'. Before she would have landed to Canada we got married.
we visited to visa office in Delhi to return PR visa and let them know about her status as 'Married'

we started working on paperwork to add myself on her application and get a new PR visa issue for both of us.
However, we get to knew that we are expecting a new born in our family now. my wife is conceiving and she has due date in October.

Can you please advice what should we do
1)Should we process the PR visa for myself and then get it ammended for the new born later.
2) Wait ..inform the visa office about the latest information as we are expecting an additional memeber in the family and then later apply the new PR proessing for all 3 of us.

How long we can keep her application to be ON HOLD. is there any time duration.
we are worried that it should not be the case that her application is no longer valid to get ammended for spouse and child and we will be never able to land to Canada.

Please advice.

Congratulations!

please note, that your wife does not "hold PR" until she lands.

You cannot add a person that has not yet been born : )

Add yourself ASAP.

If your child is born in Canada, he/she will be a Canadian citizen.

Hi,

My wife is about to deliever a baby in Oct. we cannot travel outside india.
Should we wait for the baby and then reapply for all 3 of us.

Because as of now if i will be getting added myself to her application, again before landing
there is a change in our family structure..and it require new PR visa to get issued for all 3 of us.

Should we inform the visa office that we are expecting an additional member in the family and then later
apply the new PR proessing for all 3 of us. How long we can keep her application to be ON HOLD. is there any time duration.
we are worried that it should not be the case that her application is no longer valid to get ammended for spouse and child and we will be never able to land to Canada.

Please advice.

add yourself ASAP, for 2 reasons:

1) it will take a lot longer to add you than to add a newborn child
2) if you delay too long, the file could be closed. I can't tell you when that will be, I am not privy to all the paperwork you have.

If the child is born before you land, of course you will have to add him/her then. There's nothing unusual about that, I assure you!

Of course, you can always contact CIC yourself and ask their advice.
